I would suggest BA doesn't have a clue at this point, however all things being equal it will want to keep something going in HKG. Virgin are pulling out of Shanghai on the basis that the additional fuel costs avoiding Russia makes the route nonviable. The other unstated factor is that the Shanghai economy isn't in a place where fares have the potential to rise, to cover the increased costs. Both of these factors could have some impact for HKG, which also isn't the regional powerhouse it used to be.
