Flying Blue miles expiration date?

Unfortunately, donating miles didn't work. Donating 2,000 miles generated 1XP point. I see the donation hitting immediately to the account -- 2,000 miles subtracted, and 1XP point added, but the expiration date of my miles did not change. Which begs the question of whether "XP" activity alone without "miles" (unlike a flight), does NOT extend the expiration date.
Per the link below, it seems that "XP" is totally different from miles in that "XP" determines status as in blue, silver, etc., and has nothing to do with miles expiration.

By the way, a domestic flight earns 2XP, whereas my donation resulted in only 1XP. Would this be a reason that the miles expiration was not extended in that the 1XP didn't equate to even 1 domestic flight? Or is this irrelevant, in that the number of XP, in and of itself, does not extend mileage expiration dates?
