I'm not sure how that hypothesis fits with offering only 2/3 choices to everyone who has not pre-ordered when 5 are consistently offered in the pre-order window. Seems to fit the FA's observation. I've never, ever, heard a FA run through 5 choices and I'm usually in front two rows.
On the other hand, the FA could be wrong...
