The same family have owned the nearby President, Tavistock and Bedford Hotels for nearly 200 years, all large hotels, so it's a huge number of bedrooms.. With over 1600 bedrooms The Royal National easily beats the Metropole (1100 bedrooms) and since the day it opened and until the present day, it's the UK's largest hotel. And it has never been part of a chain such as Hilton, but they have their own loyalty scheme, the 1837 Club.
Interesting. Thanks.

Would have thought the largest hotel would be part of a chain like Marriott.
