If you're waiting for the update in which Delta waives seat fees for Flying Blue Golds, I think you have a very, very long wait ahead of you.

However, Delta has teased a "big" announcement, so maybe they are getting ready to announce waived seat fees for FB Golds - "Something Big is Landing on 7/22: Keep the SUmmer Vibes Going"
