The Royal National Hotel in Bloomsbury. I've never stayed there so I don't know that much about it, other than frequently walking past it. Remarkably, it's privately owned by the same family, the Walducks, who built the hotel in 1998, which was the point at which The Metropole lost the crown as London's largest hotel. The same family have owned the nearby President, Tavistock and Bedford Hotels for nearly 200 years, all large hotels, so it's a huge number of bedrooms.. With over 1600 bedrooms The Royal National easily beats the Metropole (1100 bedrooms) and since the day it opened and until the present day, it's the UK's largest hotel. And it has never been part of a chain such as Hilton, but they have their own loyalty scheme, the 1837 Club.
