I generally liked the JW Chengdu - especially because of the nice club lounge and good upgrade. Here are my impressions:

Pros:
  • Upgraded to a full suite on the top hotel floor - nice corner layout and good design
  • Bed is relatively comfortable - medium mattress, plush covers, plush pillows
  • Offered late checkout proactively - though, I didn’t need it
  • Club lounge is quite nice with large dessert selection during afternoon tea, great barista lattes, and Bailey’s during evening service
  • Offered restaurant breakfast (lounge breakfast only starts at 8 AM) - good omelet, good pancakes and waffles

Neutral:
  • Welcome gift was just peaches and soda water - guess the peaches are a nice thought, but a bit concerned about how to wash them safely (maybe with bottled water?)
  • Shower pressure was…acceptable…but definitely on the weaker side

I wouldn’t have an issue returning.
