The issuer of the card is a negative, out of a very long list of negatives. I would have been an ideal potential customer to them to target, but my interest is absolutely zero so I ask an honest question, will anybody here on FT apply for this card? If so, I would be curious about individual circumstances leading to that decision. My guess is the number of applicants to this card is going to be so low that they would have been better off not bothering at all.
If they could have given me the slightest of benefits, despite a large number of poor features all around, I might have paid the $99 to get the card. For example, premium seat selection at time of booking, which not even E+ get. Or a small bump to help with status requalification which is already one of the easiest of all *G, if not the absolute easiest. Maybe extra baggage, wifi, etc. An upgrade voucher after xx spend. But no. They provide nada.
Even the uninteresting Avianca and QR cards should be pegged higher than the TK card in my opinion because at least they have unusual features which are not copy cat. For example AV gives LM+ subscription and QR card gives one year of OneWorld status.
Not only the TK card benefits are very weak, but the earning rates are subpar for every single category. TK flights 3x? Why would I not use transferrable points like Chase Sapphire 3x or Citi 3x instead? Or Amex Plat 5x. Never mind that the TK cards in Türkiye give 8x. Dining lodging groceries 2x? There are better cards for all these categories. I would not use this TK card for anything at all. If only they could have picked some obscure spend category to stand from the crowd, but unfortunately not.
And icing on the cake is the card comes on the heels of a massive devaluation and the sign-up bonus is one of the lowest in the industry so not even that will draw me to it.
It's almost a bad joke that the only "special" feature is that the card will be metal for the first 5k applicants. Almost insulting
In summary this card is "wow" and for all the wrong reasons.
