These threads always puzzle me. Did anyone actually expect DL to care about medallion members?

The switch to MM as a driver of perks is about as obvious a indicator as one can get. Now, instead of actually getting something for flying in the current year, we have to fly a WHOLE lot (on DL metal) and then maybe they will give us something. This status thing is like crack to an addict as many here cheered these changes as some sort of enhancement.

Honestly the flights on amex travel are priced WAY better and I get a J experience. I can also buy across multiple airlines and get the class of service best suited to the flight. The points are better (5x and 35% return with the business platinum) and I still get things like lounge access.
