My friend is due on the BA138 Mumbai-LHR, which is the return of the BA139 LHR-BOM that was due to leave Heathrow this morning at 09.50am. It seems like the BA139 is canx, as is the return BA138 later tonight.

Those flights were cancelled on 4 July as part of a rolling reduction of flights to India from now until October. Other cities get reductions in September (HYD, BLR, MAA) The guidance says that passengers on these flights were supposed to be rebooked either automatically or via their travel agents as thus:
Rebook onto British Airways (BA) or Qatar Airways (QR), Lufthansa (LH), or Swiss (LX) from any UK airport to BOM and BOM to any UK airport. Rebook into lowest available in same cabin, or lower cabin.
Either way it should not be a surprise today, but it isn't in my list due to the fact that the cancellation happened 10 days ago.
