Not that it’s always conclusive but if you use online banking can you see it in your pending transactions list?
I normally use a BA Amex for all my BA bookings and those transactions come up on my Amex app pretty instantly. Same with the occasional use of the Barclaycard Avios app. Rarely use a debit card, but if you are with one of the major banks (or a smaller one with good IT) then you can usually see those instantly too.
