It expires on Dec 31 of the following year. However, here's a trick for you. If you wait to choose it between Jan 1 and Jan 7 (the deadline), it will be good for almost 2 yrs. So if you choose it on Jan 5/25, your cert will be valid until Dec 31/26. Of course this could be pulled at anytime as it's not supposed to be like that.
