Last year I had a SYD-(QF)-LAX on one ticket, and an el cheapo LAX-(AA)- JFK later that evening on another ticket (one that would require a payment to change flight). In SYD I had both boarding passes issued, and in LAX transit checked the bags for the flight later that same night.
As I missed the 22.30pm flight they automatically put me on the 2345 service no extra charge,no questions asked any they informed my my bags flew on the 2230 flight. Such fantastic service
I thought that was strange..... surely QF would do the same....then again we are talking about QF..fly the inflexible airline.
