LCY only operates for a few hours on Sunday thanks to planning consents, and it's the same issue as Fridays - it won't take much for a delicate schedule to become unhinged. I don't think it's that new, indeed it's been a while since I've had to give advice to those chucked out at SEN or STN late at night. There again we have to be careful not to magnify the impressionable anecdote, the great majority of LCY users leave or depart pretty much on time, most of the time.
