Hi fellow Flyertalkers,

I was doing a BA double tier point run MAN-DOH-BKK / BKK-DOH-LHR-MAN

On the way back, my LHR-MAN connection was cancelled due to a 'crew shortage'. They auto rebooked me to the 9pm LHR-MAN flight which didn't work as i) I've got back to London where I live and ii) I had a separate Manchester flight booking to LHR at 4pm today (with a healthy 6 hour wait time in Manchester).

I've rebooked my flights for next week when I can take some time off work and requested my luggage to be sent to me (the luggage system is apparently also down in LHR meaning they couldn't tell me how long it would take for my luggage) but my questions for the experts on here are:

1) What will happen with my BA double tier points - I'm I going to jeopardise this by collecting my luggage or changing my flight- There was a health warning on my original booking saying if I don't check luggage all the way through to the final destination then I may be disqualified from the points. Are the double points on per a segment any event i.e. even if a jeopardise the last LHR-MAN double points it's not the end of the world but I'd be seriously upset if I lose double points for the whole trip

2) Will I still be able to claim delay flight compensation - if so, is this based on a long haul flight from BKK, DOH or just LHR-MAN. I was on QR metal but BA numbers for the flight to DOH and BA metal for DOH-LHR.

I tried finding the answer on here but currently stuck in LHR so trying to figure things out quickly.

I have records of all the cancellations and rebooking on my email.

Many thanks in advance

Jon
