So you’re posting that you have full access to their pool, but complaining that you want chairs accessible for free (or to Globalists since you complained to MHC) to lounge around the pool instead of actually swimming?
Pools are extremely uncommon for hotels in New York or even Chicago so I would be happy just having access to one in those cities.
Relating to the actual title of the thread -
Stayed at a Hyatt Regency recently over the weekend where 95% of the guests were attending weddings based on appearances and what hotel staff said. As a Globalist we received no upgrade, instead upgrades were given to suites to people with no status because they overbooked, it happens I guess. Then from 11pm to 3 am the room next to us kept their latch pried open so that hordes of people could come in and out. Each time a new person would come or go it would make a pound bang as the latch kept the door from closing each time.
We were traveling with our two kids and trying to get some rest so after the first 90 minutes of letting it go not trying to ruin their time we called the FD. They said they’d send someone then for the next 30 minutes another 15-20 bangs as the door slammed each time. After 30 minutes we had to call again, they apologized and said they’d send someone again. This went on a few more times until after 3am, with easily a dozen people inside a base room with just 2 Queen Beds partying.
Room rates were about $400-$450 that night and the FD said they were part a part of a large block of rooms booked.
Guessing they didn’t want to do anything to mess up that revenue even if it disturbs other guests. We were told multiple other rooms complained as well. Finally, it stopped at 3am after about 4 hours of parting and slamming the door.
I’d say this seems more out of control to me in comparison.
I recall staying at the Talbott Chicago over New Years a couple years ago. Guests a few rooms over had a “party” with about 8 people total. After just 1-2 noise complaints FD called the police and had them all escorted out on New Years Eve. That was interesting to see.
