I've only been in HK on short trips. QQ Music seems to work for a while outside of China, until the amount of time that you're required to log back in. Then a lot of the songs stop working (some still work, but those are the song uploaded by wannabe singers / out of copyright).

I run my own VPN and it's terminated at my homes in and out of China. That way it's bi-directional and if I need to access China-only content then I simply route my traffic through my home connection in Shanghai.
That's too advanced for me, maybe it's something I'll work on as a project.
