Stopovers are not allowed on
single awards but you do not have a single award.
Flying from TPE to LAX you are not allowed to route via the Middle East on a single award. So you have 2 awards, TPE-DOH + DOH-LAX. Whether you stop in DOH for 2 hours or 2 days or 2 months, the awards would always price the same.
As noted, if you are happy with your itinerary then you don't need to do anything. The award pricing you received is not an error or AA allowing something that it shouldn't have.
