Update: No problems with the extra seat, booked with UA miles and used on Lufthansa. The check-in agent looked puzzled by the fact that Ms Guinevere had an extra seat booked as "EXTRASEAT LANCELOT", but said it was fine. It might have been more of an issue (though maybe not) if Mr LANCELOT (me) hadn't been traveling on a separate reservation.
