For example:
If I book SFO-LAX-LAS (overnight) LAS-LAX-SFO in K, is it likely I will be able to SDC the outbound LAX-LAS segment into 2 more segments? The only other 2-segment routes I see bookable are LAX-SFO-LAS. Is this change (connecting thru origin) ever allowed, either before 1st flight, or after arriving in LAX? Could other routings be offered? And finally, how realistic is it to expect to see K or lower fares (I’m not planning to fly on weekends)? If not, what fares am I likely to see to get free SDC?
Thanks for the responses on my questions in the 1st paragraph above. I'm wondering about the questions I raised in the 2nd.
For now, let's ignore the issues regarding fare class and upcharges. If I were to book SFO-LAS-LAX-SFO (all same day), I believe I might be able to SDC the 1st leg into SFO-LAX-LAS less than 24 hours before departure. Is there any chance I could change the LAS-LAX-SFO return legs into say, LAS-LAX-LAS-SFO, either (1) before 1st departure (obeying the 24-hour rule), (2) after beginning itinerary (I'm not sure why this would be any different than 1), or (3) after arriving in LAX on the return? Has anyone successfully done this? I imagine it would be allowed during IRROPs, but in normal conditions?
Thanks!
