Travelling EU-Zurich-Asia in business, all Swiss. The EU-Zurich flight was delayed so would misconnect in ZRH to Asia. No other options to our destination in Asia on the LH-group until 2 days later.
After some pushing from our side at the airport and phone and HUACA they rebooked us on EU-DBX-Asia on Emirates the following day so we did accept that.
We will arrive more than 24 hours later than the originally scheduled Swiss flights. Can we expect EU261 delay comp (EUR 600 each)? Or is this not applicable as we accepted this change? (assuming the reasons for the delay are EU261 eligible).

As your request was earlier than the proposed solution, you do not loose the right for compensation.
Nevertheless Eligibility depends on the reason the first flight was delayed.
If it was in the power of the airline (e.g. lack of cabin staff) you are eligible. If it was out of the control of the airline (e.g. bad weather, air traffic control) you are not.
