If the pricing is low enough say goodbye to a ton of comp upgrades. In DL’s mind any money they get from an unsold business class seat goes right to the bottom line vs giving it away free to an elite.
I interpret this as applying to D1 (DL's "business" class) fares, not domestic FC fares.
