It seems like, while a very generous and unique offer, BA has done a poor job (not just on the drafting of the T&Cs) of implementing this.
My details are:
TP collection year ends: March 31, 2025
Currently listed Gold Card expiration date: October 12, 2024
Qualifying RT (JFK-LHR-JFK) concluded June 13 with tier points posting June 16
As someone said upthread, the execution on this has been very poor.
I wrote before that I flew JFK-LHR-JFK. I was told that my status would be extended through 8 March 2025. I don't know how this date was calculated, but anyway, neither the website nor the app show even that date - they still only show that my Gold card expires 19 Oct 2024, which is 6 months from the time I registered for the promotion.
When I wrote to BA about this, I received the following reply:
Dear crimson12
I am following up on the request you made regarding the Tier Match policy.
I can see that you have flown from the United States of America to the United Kingdom, and as per the terms and conditions under Qualifying Flights 5, it is required that you travel 'between the United States of America, Canada, Mexico and all countries within the continent of Europe and also Israel and Greenland only.'.
As you have travelled to the United Kingdom, the extension under the Tier Match proposition is not eligible.
Please feel free to let us know if we can help you with anything else.
Kind regards
Brad

This is of course directly contradictory of other people's experiences with the extension and contradicts what BA's own rep emailed me previously (that the extension would be valid through 8 March 2025).
It seems like BA has no idea what the terms of the promotion are. In fact the way the representative reads Paragraph 5, the JFK-HEL-JFK flight that someone mentioned earlier would be eligible.
Would appreciate people's thoughts on how to proceed from here. I am EXP with AA and thought I would change my "status allegiance" to BA starting with this promotion, but my experience so far has been negative to say the least.
