I don't think it is a case of AVH not liking the 787. At Austrian Airlines they ran quite a few widebodies under his leadership. It is really a case of it being a tough industry to make a profit in and the competitive environment WS has been in the past few years has made if difficult to expand the widebody fleet profitably. I see AVH as a pragmatist as opposed to an idealist, an approach that is more likely to lead to a profitable operation.
