I'd suggest reposting at Tripadvisor Asia/Malaysia forum as there are frequent Air Asia travellers there. If the flights are not fly thru, the pax will not only have to clear entry into Malaysia as normal arrivals but checkin for the connection as a new flight, with T-1 cutoff. If there is no fly thru service, I'd suggest buying the express service for both flights.
