I'm flying out of Heathrow with Aer Lingus soon (LHR-DUB-ORD). Does anyone know:
- How early you can check in at the airport? I did previously hear of people who arrived too early being put in a 'holding area' although this might have been during the busy post pandemic time.

1. Don’t think there’s an issue. How early are you talking? Never seen a holding area.
2. Not sure. Don’t ever check anything in coming through LHR. But I’ve never seen it all that busy. Most people check in on line so I’d imagine it’s mostly just bag drop. EI in LHR is a pretty well run operation.
