In simpler terms, if my points are at zero on March 1, 2024, and I earn enough LPs between March 1, 2024, and February 28, 2025 to achieve Platinum status, will I drop back to basic status on March 1, 2025, or will I remain at Platinum status while continuing to accumulate LPs from March 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026?
lets say you are a brand new member for this qualifying year. the LPs you earn at each tier will determine what status you have. IE, once you hit 40,000 you have gold status, you will have this status for the rest of the year (assuming you dont hit another milestone and get a higher level). This is what your level will be next year when the counter resets to zero.
so in theory, if you have one very expensive flight on the first day of the new qualifying year, that could be enough to get you gold for nearly 2 full years, without any additional qualifying activity.
