I will add, that for properties you have Loyalty accounts with (Marriott, Hilton, etc...), when you call to verify the booking, you can ask them to add your loyalty number to the reservation. Once added, it should then show up on the corresponding hotel website/app.
How often have you found that translates to any sort of benefits, such as getting elite night credit?
