This increases engine lifespan between overhauls. It’s actually possible in some situations to have climb thrust be higher than takeoff thrust. That’s the opposite of the norm. Some airlines also lease engines and get charged based on the level of thrust used for both takeoff and climb as well as run time. This has added reduced power climbs as SOP along with reduced power takeoffs.
I just googled the runways. 19R/1L is 11,000 feet. The one we landed on, 19L/1R is 8300 feet long.
