UPDATE: am writing this from the JER lounge awaiting my (delayed) final flight of the day back to LHR. It turns out my fears of delays today were completely warranted. My AMS-LHR flight was delayed taking me uncomfortably close to the conformance cut-off point and then a further 20-minute delay after landing at LHR, whilst waiting for a place at T5A for passengers to alight, meant I had only a few minutes after doors opening to literally sprint to the FCC. I made it to the FCC boarding pass scanners with about 90 seconds to spare after being stuck behind a group of people faffing about at the e-gates. I then hurried to gate A2 where fortunately my LHR-JER flight was delayed and so I didn't miss it. Clearly given BA's recent and current form with delays, the same-terminal MCT increase from 60 mins to 75 mins is not enough. Perhaps it needs further increased to 120 mins. Discuss.
with a what, 40 minute delay, you still made it
Your outbound was also delayed so i would expect you would have had about 10 mins relief at fcc conformance.
120m mct would mean a t5 to t5 mct was longer than a t3 to t5 transit.
So i would vote no to that idea
