Assuming you’re flying in business class? On the 787-9 all seats are of the Super Diamond variety and laid out in a forward-facing reverse herringbone. There are no backward facing seats on a 787-9. The 787-8 however has some jets with Safron D seats which do alternate forward and backward facing in the business class cabin.

Any of the paired middle seats will be comfortable for you and your wife, traveling together. You will be able to talk to each other while still have plenty of space to rest and relax.
