I just loved everything about Madi Paidi: the design and intimacy of this boutique operation, the room comfort, the delightful staff and service attitudes, the delicious breakfast with free flow prosecco and generous (stiff) elite cocktail offerings. From the moment of arrival to departure -- a mere 24 hours later -- everything was about as perfect as could be. I applied an upgrade award for an Emerald Suite, which cleared three days before arrival. Late check-out was initially going to require moving rooms, but in the evening, before going out to dinner, they said no problem to keep the room until 4pm. As for the suite, it's beautiful, supremely comfortable (I had my first proper rain shower after a slew of Marriott 5 stars with handheld-wand only), one of the plushest robes I've ever experienced, proper slippers put out by the bed at turndown service (no chocolates, rather, a package of raw rice... ok, quirky!) Only cons to the room were the lack of a view and not so much natural lighting, but these generally are things I'm not expecting at a boutique hotel. I ended up having a lot more luggage and more in our party than initially expected, so was an NUA well spent. However, I'd be fine with a regular room/playing upgrade roulette on future stays. As it is, this is an area that keeps me on my feet and Ekkaluck (the resto/bar adjoining the lobby) is such a great vibe. Breakfast was a definite highlight: inventive, fun menu, high-quality ingredients, great-tasting dishes. They must have read the comments upthread about the fruit selection needing improvement as they had a "menu-within-a-menu" when you order the fruit plate, selecting what you want for. it. I was strongly tempted to stay a second night, but stuck with the plan to follow Madi Paidi with SGS. While there are no regrets there, I've vowed to be back at Madi Paidi sooner rather than later.
