I hope this is the right forum to post in. I need advice regarding a booking I have right now in Kauai. Currently I'm booked in a studio (with ensuite laundry) at Sheraton Kauai resort villas. I paid 228,000 points for 5 nights.

I had to call Marriott today to fix something on my account and got transferred to their vacation club afterwards to listen to their offers. The agent I spoke to offered me the same resort for $699, but for a guest room (no ensuite laundry). Of course I'd have to listen to a timeshare presentation on top of that, but I'm wondering if it's still worth it.

Hubby thinks it's just better to use the points instead of saving them, but knowing the value I feel like it's just worth paying out of pocket and booking the MVC offer.

I'd love to hear others feedback. I've never sat through a Marriott timeshare presentation, but using 1.5-2hr of my vacation for this may or may not be worth it.
