It's seasonal stuff where AS is probably pulling down some frequencies in the dead of winter that are half empty planes. I doubt they need to cut routes for this. I think we can expect AS to move more towards this if/when they integrate HA (there's going to be things that work TATL/TPAC seasonally and cases where they should just send a 787 from Seattle to Cancun for a couple months instead of flying a mostly empty Dreamliner TATL).
The Vegas-Mexico stuff actually made sense to me. Seems low risk and Vegas is a rapidly growing metro area with people who like seeing undammed water from time to time.

Agree on just putting a 787 on some of those winter Mexico routes when they get those on property.
