I don’t think they reserve row 1 in CW (i.e. long haul) for GCH but normally do for CE (SH). If they let you choose a row 1 CE seat then they won’t kick you out of it unless you move seats around or something, in which case you may no longer be able to select row 1.

They don’t even go around kicking people out of ‘favoured’ seats for Premiers or Celebs unless you are talking about offloads due to e.g. overselling. More than a few of us on here have had Sir Paul McCartney ask if he could swap 1A for 1K as he prefers it! The only people who can really get you moved out of row 1 in CE are politicians or royals with a security detail.
