Perhaps they no longer do this, but last I knew, the mobile lounges go back and forth between Main Terminal and D Concourse and from D Concourse to A Concourse. Of course, Aero train or the walkway will be faster but the lounges are a unique way to get around.
They still do, but the OP's wayfinding within IAD makes the mobile lounge unlikely to be the most efficient way to move about the airport, other than getting off the Lufthansa flight and boarding the mobile lounge to clear immigration and customs.
