As silver, I was able to book row 1 on two flights to the US recently (BNA from memory) and that was weeks out not 72hrs. I ended up in 1K on the way out and then moved the return back to 5A as the 777-200 config I was on was quite noisy in row 1 (right next to galley) and I just wanted to sleep on the way home.
