You can try this technique. Otherwise, the MH 70 / JL 7092 flight sounds perfect for your family, as the departure time from KUL is 09:50 (you can arrive by 08:00 in the morning and not feel rushed).
KUL is relatively efficient now with the autogate immigration on departure and arrival. The MH cabin crew seem very friendly with the cabin crew and are a bit more relaxed / open, if you like this. Good luck!
