thanks, yes that's the issue - I am not sure if I can tell if it's one ticket before completing booking - but hopefully they would warn if it not? The time between flights would make it impossible to self-transfer.

I have checked on a PR journey AKL-SYD-MNL using QF/PR journey (sold by PR) and it's one ticket.

PR could not give definitive answer when I asked about baggage tho! They thought it should be OK.

And yes NZ sold tickets are usually using SQ or CX and are much more expensive.
