The bus seats are good training for aircraft economy seating as they make it seem luxurious! Since there are no reserved seats on the bus you might have a hard time claiming the seat next to you. I have always found the bus to be a fairly quiet environment but there may be occasions when it becomes a student party bus. The journey is indeed tediously long but the stops do add quite a bit of time, then there is the usual crawl into O'Hare and the bus often gets in a bit ahead of schedule anyway.
