Why the airline industry continues to let strikes paralyze them is beyond me, but they do and we the customer are ones that feel the pain.
And worse, their problem now is our burden.

I've never understood the mentalimentalit're having an internal problem and you go solve it or do without. AA advertises certain amenities. It's not right to simply not provide them and still charge the same or to tell customers to go spend more money to buy food in the terminal. AA is not spending the money on the vanishing catering. They need to find a solution whether it's a new vendor, a voucher in the terminal, credit or whatever. The burden for a solution should be on them!

I'm not saying I deserve compensation. Just ranting because the principle of it is wrong to me.
