You guys are so right about the mattress😂🤣. It has to be the firmest I had ever laid my behind on😭. I am finishing up a two nights stay here on points as a platinum member (credit card) after traveling around Japan including sleeping on futons in Ryokans. The Regent mattress has to take cake on the firmness scale. I mean it is not uncomfortable. It is not like some European mattresses than are literally just spring boxes. It has a topper (I think an inch thick) on it but it just feels like “cardboard”😂😂. I slept well last night it is probably because I like firm mattress.

The hotel is really long in the tooth! It is nice but I won’t if the will pull a Regent Hong Kong and shut down for a complete renovation soon! I mean maintenance is fine but it is a very busy hotel and a lot of things look really dated and the price reflects that. I am not sure whether the grand Hyatt taipei is worse or this one is!!!

However the point redemption is great. I got an upgrade to a high floor room with view of 101 with welcome drinks, fruits and late checkout. Breakfast is included, although the quality is just fine. I would definitely stay again on points.
