Last month while arriving from the US into HND, I noticed that the way back up to departures was simply blocked off. It didn't matter to me since I had a long enough layover that I wanted to pop into town anyways. Wonder if Japanese authorities have suddenly lost confidence in US TSA's ability to ensure passengers arrive properly screened?
It started at Narita as a test pre pandemic. And came back when the arrivals flow was normalised again. Then Haneda joined for a while, but has stopped again.
