Ah that's a really good thought. Yes, the new flight dates are still cheaper than the previous ones and haven't changed since we were looking/booking late last week. I wasn't sure whether I could ask for a refund for both outbound (which BA cancelled) and inbound (which they haven't as of today). This is why I initially tried to call them but their phone assistance was otherwise engaged. I should have taken a breath and just given it 24hrs and tried again tomorrow, really.

But it's mad (and frustrating) to think they would let you do that, but wouldn't refund the difference. I will still try to speak to BA tomorrow, and then try my credit card company if BA aren't helpful. If neither can help, I might try to complain to a newspaper consumer columnist. I've done this in the past when stuck on other things and it worked.

Thanks for replying.
