We are able to travel one day either side of that so we have rebooked to travel out on 7th Aug and back on 21st (instead of 22nd as originally planned).
Looking at alternative dates, I can see Tue 6th was cancelled altogether as well. I can only assume this is to manage resources somehow - are there strikes planned for late summer, or...?
I've not been able to contact BA yet as I think they are quite busy with the latest wave of cancellations but I want to ask them for a part-refund of our ticket. We bought more expensive tickets originally because we were willing to pay extra and have a more comfortable departure time. Now we are having to take an 0720 flight and these tickets are cheaper. We haven't changed the dates because we fancied it - we had no choice. What are the chances I will get a refund for the difference between the fares?
Welcome to Flyertalk and to the BA section!
Unfortunately you don't have an entitlement under UK261 to a refund of the fare difference based on the lower fare that would have applied for the date you're now travelling. If you wanted to make a case for such a refund, it would have to be under consumer law and you'd really need evidence via screenshots from the time of booking proving the fare difference. Even then it would be far from a clear-cut case.
In general, BA's EuroFlyer operation is rather short of flight crew and so it appears some selective cancellations have been made, sufficiently far ahead to avoid compensation being payable (but also, perhaps more charitably, so that people can adjust their plans accordingly without huge inconvenience).
