Yes, a couple of years ago. I emailed AA Hotels, and (surprisingly) they worked with the property to have the charge refunded. As I recall, AAH even said that if the property wouldn't do it, AAH would refund the fee to me. It is of course possible that it was an error on the AAH website in not listing it rather than an error on the hotel's part in charging it.
