Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this "glitch" lately: I got a SW schedule change notice a few weeks back for a rewards flight coming up soon, which I intend to change to another day. I logged in today online, found my reservation, clicked "change flight" like I've done 100 times before, did a search for the new date, but saw my free change notice wasn't appearing on top, and all changes showed points due. I clicked on nothing further and called SW for help to make the free change for me.
The agent told me, "the system says you used your free change already, it says here you just did it a few minutes ago." Huh?? I said I certainly did not, I only logged in and saw the free change offer gone, and called you. The agent replied again that I selected a new flight, and identified it was the exact same flight time/day that SW had auto-changed me to weeks prior in their email notice. Why would I use my free change to select the very same flight? The agent wasn't buying it, insisting that I had just changed to that flight tonight. Something seems clearly glitchy in their system.
Finally after a couple more back and forths with the agent being rather rude about it, they relented and said, "well, you get TWO free changes, and you just used up one, but I can do the second change for you," which they did. So, I apparently lost a 2nd free change opportunity, which hopefully I won't need anyway, but still, what an annoying experience. I have another flight I need to free-change next week that I just checked, and I see it's also not showing the free change notification, so it seems I'll get to play this game again shortly.
