When U space for my specific flight opened up at T-2, I had to use the bypass upgrade bug to receive an upgrade. J/U exists, but the systems aren't running in the same manner prior to this feature being deployed.

Hopefully, AS smooths out the kinks that this new feature may have caused sooner rather than later.
My upgrade for ANC-FAI finally cleared at T-48 or so. As a 100K this was disappointing and allowed others to buy up seats in F for $30 a pop. I did contact reservations but they were unwilling or unable to shake any wires to compel the professor to awaken.

However, if U space is open and the system hasn’t been triggered, it’s open season for those FC seats. For example an MVP at 20/23 on a waitlist who goes to check-in here would be presented with a free upgrade offer and move up to FC, bypassing the WL. Similarly, a non-elite for a flight with J1 who goes to check-in could purchase the seat with the traditional buy-up offer at check-in, which shouldn’t happen.

I’ve mention this to AS countless times, but it has not been patched which is why I disclosed it on FT a while back.
Yes, been going on for decades unfortunately with AS :/ Gets better, then it gets worse it seems.

Correct. It does seem the lower the F fare bucket open, the lower the upgrade amount.

Maybe. I did encounter W&B issues out of GUA in January and nearly missed out of an upgrade (noticed my companion and I was missing from the WL and someone else was cleared into F as a standby). I liked GUA, but that station was certainly going through teething. Hope they've improved. Exit immigration was annoying too (prepare for some lines).
