As a data point my flight from EDI to LCY was cancelled on Sunday 30 June, I submitted claim same day and on Thursday (4 July) I received a response confirming £220 compensation and that my train fare to London and lunch would be reimbursed. I had included a few paragraphs of context for what had happened. It said funds should arrive within 14 days so overall impressed at relatively quick resolution.
I think it would be useful if anyone providing a data point such as this also stated the class of travel and paxs current status with BA. Anecdotally, status and class of travel do impact BAs response times.
