as mentioned earlier, AA allows you to create a separate profile with your AS number

booking AA flights (either revenue or award) with this profile pulls your AS status; in my case over the last ~18 months 75K and 100K have given me MCE at booking, a fairly good spot on the upgrade lists (missed ORD-PSP, CLT-SEA, and LAX-ORD, but scored SEA-CLT, CLT<>WAS, DCA-ORD, ORD-SYR, SYR-CLT, and a handful of other short- to medium-haul trips) for both award and revenue bookings, and the appropriate RDM/EQM credit for paid trips
